Ahmedabad: The police had to resort to a mild lathicharge outside the Gujarat Housing Board office in Ahmedabad on Monday after crowds had swelled to collect forms for the state government's affordable housing scheme.
Interestingly, the government's announcement comes as a retaliation to the Congress's salvo fired on the same lines - that it will provide affordable housing to the poor people for just Rs 70,000 a house if voted to power.
Chaos broke out when it emerged that despite announcements for form disbursement starting Monday, the forms had still not been printed. The police had to use a mild force to bring the situation under control.
