Mumbai: On the eve of the first anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks people from all walks remembered the tragedy. Various events were held in Mumbai to mark the anniversary.
Mumbaikars vented their sadness, anger and frustration in a marathon graffiti session on Wednesday. Many people came and painted pictures and messages in a one kilometer wall in the Chandanwadi area in Mumbai.
The wall was filled with messages, some in remembrance and others in anger.
The Jewish community in the city came together at a commemorative ceremony for 26/11 victims at the synagogue in Kala Ghoda.
The gathering remembered Rabbi Holtzberg and his wife who were killed at Nariman house and prayers were offered for their son baby Moshe.
Over 500 children from across the country gathered at the Chattrapathi Shivaji Terminus station, one of the terror targets last year. They held a candlelight vigil and cultural events to honor the victims. The Railways had recently announced plans to set up a museum at the station.
The Mumbai Police took out a dress rehearsal for the flag march to be held from Nariman point to Chowpatty on Thursday. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan are among the ones who will attending the function. Commandoes of the newly commissioned Force One will also take part in the parade.
