CNN-IBN

Malegoan: Curfew ensued in two regions of north Maharashtra, Dhule and Malegoan, following clashes between two communities.

Curfew was clamped after rioters indulged in arson and stone pelting.

The mob also set ablaze some vehicles and looted shops. Three policemen are reported to have sustained minor injuries in the violence.

Police used tear gas shells and fired in the air to disburse the mob.

The violence started after the banners of a Hindu outfit were torn off by some unknown persons.

Extra forces have been sent to both areas. Police say the situation is now under control.
