Ludhiana: Curfew was imposed in most parts of Ludhiana late on Saturday evening following the continuous violence since Thursday in Punjab's industrial city, officials said.
A curfew was imposed in nine areas of Ludhiana - divisions 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7, Simlapuri, Focal point and Sahnewal - following the widespread violence on Friday and Saturday.
Earlier, a curfew was imposed in five police station areas of the town, 110 k, from Chandigarh, Friday and was relaxed in three of these divisions Saturday from 0830 hrs IST till 1700 hrs IST
Saturday's clash between police and Sikh protesters left one person dead and over 15 injured.
