New Delhi: Suresh Kalmadi will remain the President of the Indian Olympics Association (IOA) despite pressure from the IOC and despite being accused in the CWG scam.
The IOA has said that Kalmadi will not execute his powers and that VK Malhotra will continue as the acting President. Kalmadi is out on bail after spending over nine months in jail.
"Kalmadi has written two letters to the IOA acting president, he has written that he will not assert his rights and obligations as the IOA President. His letters were accepted. We stand by the resolution that VK Malhotra will take charge as the President," IOA's acting President VK Malhotra said.
