New Delhi: Janata Dal United (JDU) MP Sharad Yadav, the Chairman of the standing committee on urban development, has called for a panel meeting on January 18 over Commonwealth Games' financial irregularities.
Sharad Yadav has sought expenditure details from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on all CWG projects. The panel will grill Urban Development Ministry officials on how CWG projects were being handled.
A Parliament's Estimates Committee has been looking at how contracts were awarded during the construction of stadiums. There was a row over financial irregularities pertaining to the organising of the nineteenth CWG held in October last year.
