Hyderabad: A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Thursday dismissed the plea of YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy for an interim anticipatory bail in the disproportionate assets case against him.
The CBI had summoned Jagan to appear before it on May 25 in connection with the case.
Earlier, the YSR Congress president had told CNN-IBN that he feared he might be arrested before the crucial by-elections in Andhra Pradesh, slated to be held on June 12.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Excise Minister M Venkataramana, who also is an accused in the case, was remanded to five days in CBI custody.
The minister was arrested in connection with Jagan's disproportionate assets case as he was the ports and infrastructure minister during the regime of Y S Rajashekhar Reddy.
