Mumbai: After creating a rage with the plays like Class of 84 and Pune Highway, Rahul Da Cunha brings us the last one of the trilogy, Me, Kash and Cruise.
It is a play that lives through what Mumbai has faced over the years.
"It is the life I know, it is a city I know," Da Cunha says about the play.
Da Cunha is only narrating the story of a city every Mumbaikar has lived through and he is all set to showcase that with his new play Me, Kash and Cruise.
After the success of Class of 84 and Pune Highway, the new play is the last of Da Cunha's friendship trilogy.
"The first one was about happier friendship, about people who meet after 20 years, second one was about friendship in crisis, when you meet with a crisis on a highway how do you survive. This is about friendship traced over 20 years," he says.
But what sets the new one apart is the not so asexual nature of the play and of course, the fourth character, played by Bombay in this case.
"All the scenes take place in different years. The scenes happen when the backdrop of the scene is what Bombay has been through at that point in time. For e.g. for the scene in '92, while they are acting, riots are happening outside," he explains.
The play has hit theatres on April 2 and will be on at NCPA till April 10. But if you still miss it, then you can catch it at the Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai after that. And here is that one reason why you must watch Me, Kash and Cruise
"Both young and old people will say, there is a bit of me in that," he adds.
