Mumbai: The year 2008 is right around the corner, and photographer Daboo Ratnani is all set for the new year with a special calender showcasing some of the hottest male bods of Bollywood.
Dabboo's latest is a collection of 24 of the top male stars looking every bit the 'real men' that they are.
From the Bachchans to the Khans and everyone in between, the calendar packs quite a punch, to say the least.
Newcomer Ranbir Kapoor says, "My picture was taken with tones of both, the bad guy and the good guy but now that I look at it I feel it captured more than that."
Arjun Rampal confesses, "The stylist ran out of clothes, and we had a low budget picture so we shot mine shirtless."
And this is what Rahul Bose had to say about his photo, "I am licking the light bulb in the photo. It has this drama intact but the tone is seriously gritty."
At an event to unveil the exhibition on Sunday, a quiet evening turned into a tornado of sorts when Shah Rukh Khan dropped by to take a look at his own portrait.
The actor made it clear that pictures were the result of much hard work, not always involving the subject.
"I think pictures take time, they are worked on post- production, lots of effort goes into them and then they look fabulous,” says Shah Rukh.
The well-attended affair expectedly turned into an ego-massaging exercise for the photographer in question who accepted all the kind words with a big, broad smile.
Ritesh Deshmukh, meanwhile, was all praises for the photographer, "I think it isn't easy to find 24 men and Dabboo has gone out and done it, He’s got a great eye."
Kunal Kapoor’s take on the subject was,” I think the concept works fabulously for me its wonderful to bring out the inner side of an actor."
A limited edition piece that is strictly ‘Not On Sale’, the Dabboo Ratnani calendar has emerged one of those must-have collectibles both for the stars and the star-struck.
