Reason - he was allegedly beaten up and horribly tortured for loving a girl belonging to a high caste.
Chandrakant is now at the hospital recovering from the trauma.
The girl's family did not approve of the relationship and hence the brutal punishment.
The couple had eloped a few days ago. Police traced them after the girl's family lodged a complaint.
Neighbours and the girl's relative then beat up the couple.
Chandrakant and his family apparently did not complain to the police out of fear.
But later on after police assurance, his family lodged a complaint and a case has been registered against 13 persons from the girl's family.
Nanded DSP Vasant Jadhav said, “Dalit boy's eyes gouged out. he was tortured for loving a high class girl. The boy Chandrakant now at hospital. The girl's family was against the relationship. The family has lodged the complaint and we will take action.”
