New Delhi: A 17-year-old Dalit girl was burnt to death in Sehora near Jabalpur Sunday after she tried to fight off her molesters. A murder case has been registered against the accused.
This incident took place 30 km from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. The girl died in the Jabalpur district hospital on Monday.
According to the police the victim resisted a molestation attempt by the accused. Later that night, a scuffle broke out between two main accused and the victim’s relatives. The accused then went to the victim's shanty and doused her with kerosene.
A murder case has been registered against the perpetrators. Six have been arrested while the two main accused are on the run.
