The release of Junior NTR 'Dammu' on this 27th on the new verdict of Competition Commission of India will be the starting point of a major blow to the collections of Kannada films in Karnataka. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce is having a testing time. So far convincing the non Kannada film distributors to release according to old guidelines has not happened.
'Dammu' Junior NTR Telugu film is releasing in 150 screens in Karnataka. The gentleman agreement of non Kannada film distributor to release in 24 screens maximum is not applicable now. The free hand given to non Kannada film releases by Competition Commission of India is a major blow to Kannada film collections considers the Kannada film producers.
The record numbers of 150 screens occupied by 'Dammu' leave the side theatres in Karnataka open to big venture releases. The moderate Kannada film that was getting the side theaters in the first week have to struggle and it is a nasty blow. Once the film is declared hit or flop in the first week then only the moderate Kannada films have the future to get in to the interiors. In the case of big Kannada films starring Puneeth Rajakumar, Upendra, Darshan, Sudeep, Shivarajakumar, V Ravichandran, Ganesh, Vijay and a few others the chances of getting too many theatres for release in the first week becomes difficult. Thanks to Competition Commission of India for its ruling.

The release of \'Dammu\' on this 27th will be the starting point of a major blow to the collections of Kannada films.
On 27th of April there is only 'Parie' from newcomer's team with no big star cast to oppose the film like 'Dammu' of Junior NTR.
On 1st of May power star Puneeth Rajakumar, Priyamani, Nidhi Subbaiah starring 'Anna Bond' a film from Dr Rajakumar family banner is releasing - that is three days earlier to Friday - 4th May 2012. For 11th of May 2012 Upendra and Ramya starring 3D film 'Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi' is slated for release. 'Godfather' in which Upendra is in triple role is also clashing with 'Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi'.
