New Delhi: The big release at the theatres on Friday is Dan Brown's film adaptation after The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons. The film again stars Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon.
Even before its filming began, Angels and Demons had attracted calls of boycott considering its focus on the Vatican, but the film went on to be number one at the US box office in its opening week.
This Friday, it is the only release in Delhi.
The film tracks the proceedings that eventually lead to the sequence of events in 2006's The Da Vinci Code. Like the previous film, this too is based on Dan Brown's book of the same name and directed by Ron Howard.
The plot unfolds when the Pope dies and until his successor is chosen, Patrick McKenna, played by Ewan McGregor assumes day-to-day control of the Vatican City.
However, all four primary hopefuls for the papacy are kidnapped and the clues point towards a mysterious organisation called the Illuminati. This is when The Vatican summons Professor Robert Langdon and Vittoria Vetra - played by Ayelet Zurer - for help.
