New Delhi: The parents of Daniel James who assisted their son in committing suicide will not be charged by the UK police.
This is despite having enough evidence to prosecute the parents for aiding the suicide of their 23 year old son.
The police think that the prosecution will not be in public interest as the parents had begged their 23 yr old son to change his mind.
James, a former rugby player, was paralysed from the neck down last year. Reports say that he was extremely depressed and wanted to end his life.
He travelled to Switzerland with his parents where euthanasia is allowed. This case is being seen by euthanasia campaigners as a landmark decision.
