Dasmunsi says Rahul similar to Rajiv

New Delhi: Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi on Saturday made a comparison of sorts when he said that Rahul Gandhi was very similar to his father, the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

"Like Rajiv, he (Rahul Gandhi) has three good qualities. Respect — he knows how to talk to seniors and give respect. Secondly, he doesn't show that he knows it all, but instead he tries to find out what you think. Thirdly, he does a lot of research," PTI quoted Dasmunsi as saying in an interview to BBC Hindi.

"All these traits are like Rajiv. But there are many challenges ahead of him. I think his way of learning, his discipline, not making himself obvious, these things are like Rajiv, and he is very forward thinking — about technology and scientific issues," he added.

While showering praises on Rahul—a Congress MP from Amethi—Dasmunsi said, "I have been observing him for the last couple of years, he is doing a lot of research and thinking about rural development and why the support is not reaching the villages."
