New Delhi: An ailing Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi is most likely to continue in his capacity of President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the sixth time as he has been the only one to file his nomination for the post.
Dasmunsi, who has been kept on ventilator ever since October 12, was the favourite amongst all five zones.
Earlier, certain members in the Executive Committee meeting on November 22 called for the postponement of elections for the post of President but then later, it was decided to honour the constitution.
"Nobody would dare to fill in the nomination for the post of president and thus show disrespect to Dasmunsi who is battling for life and death in the hospital," said a very senior official from eastern India.
All the nominations filed for the executive committee and for the post of president and vice-presidents were scrutinized by Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) member and Basketball Federation of India’s General Secretary Harish Sharma.
