New Delhi: India's most wanted fugitive, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, has been injured in a clash in a Karachi hotel, intelligence sources have told CNN-IBN.
One of the most protected gangsters in the world, Dawood reportedly sustained injuries in his left leg in a scuffle with fellow gamblers -- Firoz Gitto, Firoz Dausa and Black Prince.
The clash took place in the penthouse of the Regent Crown Plaza Hotel in Karachi, which belongs to the infamous gambler, Firrazudin Baweza.
However, when contacted, the Karachi Police denied knowledge of any such incident.
Sources have also told CNN-IBN that seven to eight Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) security guards were present in the upper basement parking of the hotel.
They have also said that Dawood is presently at Clifton Kahakasha, near Clifton beach -- his Karachi residence, which is situated some eight kms from Hotel Regent.
It is said that Dawood's movements are not restricted in Karachi, but going to Islamabad is a problem for him because of the Foreign Mission's presence.
Dawood, who is said to be the mastermind behind the 1993 blasts in Bombay, is India's most wanted man. He is currently thought to be living in Karachi, even though the Pakistan government has repeatedly denied this.
Recently -- according to a Pakistani Daily -- the US had asked Pakistan to hand over Dawood to them for his alleged links to al-Qaeda-related terrorists groups and involvement in the global heroin trade.
The US' Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Agency have sought assistance from Pakistan's Interior Ministry, Anti-Narcotic Force and the ISI to hunt down Dawood in the Islamic nation, The News quoted sources as saying.
