Dead pilot to be cremated in native place

New Delhi: The pilot of the Indian Air Force, Jaguar aircraft that crashed near the Pokhran firing range on Thursday will be cremated in his native place near Bangalore.

Flying Lieutenant R K Serrao’s wife Nikita visited Ambala Cantt on Friday where her husband was based and went to his Napiour Road residence in the city, news agency PTI quoted official sources as saying.

Nikita, who is also working as a pilot married the late pilot 10 months back.

She collected some photographs and documents of her late husband and left for Chandigarh, the sources said.

Serrao’s aircraft, which was on a live firing exercise mission, was blown up into pieces minutes later it took off on Thursday.
