New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a petition filed by Himanshu Sabharwal challenging the acquittal of student union leaders for the murder of his father Professor H S Sabharwal in Ujjain.
Professor Sabharwal, head of the political science department at Madhav College, was allegedly beaten up by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists died in August 2006. He later succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
A Bench headed by Justice P Sathasivam on Monday asked Himanshu to approach the appropriate High Court for remedy.
The Supreme Court said that as per procedure the acquittal order of the sessions court should be challenged in the High Court.
