New Delhi: After scouring the waters of the Atlantic where Air France flight 447 went down, the Brazilian Air Force came out with a shocking revelation that the debris recovered so far was only trash.
Brazilian Air Force General, Ramon Borges Cardoso said, "It has been verified that the material did not belong to the plane. They were wood pallets that were used by ships and sometimes planes, but in this flight to Paris, there were no wood pallets."
The French are deeply disappointed, but are not giving up. They have despatched two mini-submarines to the area where it is believed the flight may have gone down. Their mission is to recover the two black boxes that maybe lying on the ocean floor. The subs can go down to 6,000 metres and are equipped with steel arms, sonars and lights.
"As time passes, the possibility of finding bodies is decreasing, because it has been over 100 hours since the accident took place and this possibility is more remote every minute," Cardoso said.
Even so the Brazilian Air Force is continuing its search, once again with the hope of finding the actual debris belonging to the fated flight.
