Mumbai: The Adarsh Housing society scam is soon becoming a flash point between the Ministry of Defence and the Maharashtra government. Both have been claiming ownership over the land on which the tower of deceit stands.
On Monday, the MoD sent a notice to the Maharashtra government with the claim and may file a title suit in either the Bombay High Court or the Supreme Court for the plot.
It has asked the state government to hand over the possession of the land within two months.
The notice comes over a month after a two-member inquiry commission set up by the government claimed the land belonged to the Maharashtra government and was not reserved for the Kargil war widows or their families.
