New Delhi: The Defence Ministry has publicly acknowledged that the military has got a raw deal from the Sixth Pay Commission and maximum disappointment was among the middle-rung officers.
Responding to reports of substantial numbers of officers wanting to quit, the Defence Ministry is taking up their case for a pay hike review.
Minister of State for Defence, Pallam Raju told CNN-IBN that soldiers serving in field areas must get a better allowance. He said soldiers must be compensated better for the hardships imposed by military service.
"Soldiers on ground are facing hardships and they deserve a greater allowance. We have to take the case back to the Pay Review Commission," said Pallam Raju.
