New Delhi: Nineteen-year-old Ashish Kumar Garg left his home for a birthday party on Wednesday morning but never returned. He was drugged and strangulated by the very same friends who had invited him.
Ashish's father Ashok Kumar Garg said, "I always used to ask him not meet these people. I guess that's why he has landed up where he did."
Police say the murder was pre-mediated. The accused had even booked a flat in outer Delhi where they executed the conspiracy.
Investigators say four men in their early twenties murdered Ashish because they feared getting caught. They then started making ransom calls to his father but were caught when they went to collect the money.
"I don't know why they released three people and did not arrest the mother of two of the accused," said Ashish's father.
The victim's father alleges that the mother of two of the accused who is a head constable in Delhi Police is the main conspirator.
Tough the police has completely ruled out the involvement of their head constable, they do want to question the four accused to find out if there were other conspirators.
As of now they say the motive behind the murder was simple - get Rs 50 lakh and live a lavish life.
