New Delhi: In another case of alleged gangrape in Delhi, three men have been arrested for kidnapping and then raping a 20-year-old girl in Alipur, which lies in the outer district of the national capital. Two other men allegedly involved in the heinous crime are absconding.
The 20-year-old has alleged that she was kidnapped and gangraped by five men. The accused were known to the girl and according to her the incident took place on January 1. The complaint was file on January 6.
This incident comes close on the heels of the brutal gangrape and assault of a 23-year-old paramedical student inside a chartered bus. The student died after battling for life for over 12 days and the case led to widespread protests across the country.
All the six accused in the case have been arrested. While five of them are above the age of 18 years, one of the accused is claiming to be a minor and is being tried by a Juvenile Justice Board. The other five accused will be tried in a fast-track court in Saket.
