New Delhi: A toddler is battling for her life after she was allegedly brutally raped in the capital. The five-year old girl has been admitted to the ICU and is believed to be critical. Her family said that her throat was slit and the doctors said that the toddler is critical. The doctors also confirmed she was subjected to horrific injuries to her private parts and that her genitals have been mutilated. The doctors added that there were foreign objects in her body and due to that infection is spreading.
Meanwhile, her family alleged that the police was reluctant to file an FIR. When confronted about the rape probe, the police officials allegedly told the parents to just be grateful that she was found alive. One of the relatives of the rape survivor said, "When we went to the police to ask them what they are doing about the case, they told us that we should be happy that the girl has been found and pray for her recovery. That's where the matter ends."
The rape survivor was allegedly kidnapped from her home in Gandhi Nagar of East Delhi four days ago. Her family alleged that the police acted too late in finding her. No arrests have been made yet but the police suspect a neighbour.
The five-year-old's mother has demanded justice. "She went out to play two days back when she was kidnapped. The man then locked her up in his room and raped her. I want justice from the government," said the mother.
