Delhi airport gets a dazzling new terminal

New Delhi: The swanky new departure terminal at Delhi's domestic airport, which opened on Sunday, is a dazzling addition to the Capital.

From now on, flying out of Delhi won’t be as chaotic as it used to be. The world class facility spread over 35,000 square meters promises efficient and passenger friendly travel.

It took GMR Rs 500 crore and one-and-a-half years to build the terminal.

A first for the country, here are some of the reasons why Terminal 1D claims to be the best in India:

The airport saves on electricity during the day as the roof is specially built allowing the sun to do the lighting.

While waiting for your flight, you can relax in chairs which have been imported especially from Austria or enjoy a cup of coffee from the many kiosks.

Once your boarding is announced, you simply have to walk down to one of the 14 gates where buses whisk you off to your flight.

So from now, all the fun in flying begins right here on the ground.
