New Delhi: A lady journalist of an English newspaper was allegedly molested in Delhi on Wednesday night. The journalist was on her way home from her office in South Delhi when two motorcyclists allegedly molested her in Mansarovar Park of Northwest Delhi.
The journalist who was riding a scooter was overtaken and stopped by two motorcyclists who passed lewd comments and tried to pull her towards them. What is even more shocking is the police apathy.
When the journalist went with her father to the nearest police station to lodge an FIR, the police there tried to counsel her by saying that it was not advisable for women to step out at night. No arrests have been made yet.
"When I narrated the incident to the police, they asked me not to travel at night since Delhi is unsafe. Even after I narrated the entire incident, all the policemen present told me the same thing," she said.
