New Delhi: Violence against children continues as the bodies of two siblings were found near Pragati Maidan in Central Delhi on Saturday. The bodies of the two, a boy and a girl, were found in a highly decomposed state.
The two were allegedly kidnapped on February 26 and the parents had apparently received a ransom call of Rs 40 lakh. The family claims that although they had informed the police, the police weren't responsive enough.
"My nephew's daughter and son were kidnapped on Tuesday at 1 pm from their school. We registered an FIR. We asked them to pick up a guy who was a suspect, but the police did not. Apparently, the suspect's uncle has some connections and they allegedly paid off the police. One of the two suspects is the landlord's son and the other is his neighbour," a relative of the children said.
The bodies will be sent for a post-mortem before being handed over to the family. This comes just just 24 hours after a 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped inside an MCD school in Northwest Delhi.
