Eight-year-old Deepak was stoned to death by his twenty-year-old brother Sonu all because Sonu was jealous that his younger brother was getting all the attention at home.
Talking about the incident South-West district, DCP Shalini Singh says, Sonu killed his brother because he though his parents love Deepak, his younger brother, more than him.”
Family members can hardly believe this.
According to them Sonu and Deepak were very close and there was no previous instance of animosity between the two.
The murder of their younger child has left the parents shattered.
Victims mother Amrita says, “They never fought and we love them both.”
After allegedly killing his little brother, Sonu took the body to the nearby forest and later informed everyone that he had discovered Deepak's body. But the of suspicion was on Sonu from the very beginning since he was the one last seen with Deepak. On the day of the murder Sonu was also late for work.
On sustained interrogation by the police Sonu confessed to the crime.
