New Delhi: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a Delhi traffic police constable and his accomplice on Thursday.

The policeman Sanjeev Rana along with property dealer Naresh Mann allegedly abducted Asha (name changed) from Shahbad Dairy locality around 1430 hrs (IST) on Thursday.

They then raped her before dumping her at the same spot. “They shut my mouth and told me if I make any noise, they will kill me,” the girl recalls.

Her family says police were immediately informed. “My daughter came crying. I asked what happened and who the men were. Then, I called the police,” says her father Radhe Shyam.

A medical test conducted on the victim has confirmed rape.

This is the fourth incident of rape of a minor in Delhi in the last 25 days. While an embarrassed police force refused to comment on Rana's involvement, Radhe Shyam alleges the police offered him money to hold back the case .

“On the way to the police station, the accused and the cops stopped a couple of times. They offered me money and told me to hold back the case. But I refused,” he says.

The two accused are now under custody. But Mann's family claims he is being framed.

“My husband is innocent. He was with us throughout the day. He is being falsely charged,” says his wife Sulekha.

On April 14, a two-and-a half-year-old was raped by a rickshaw puller.
