Supriya's mother Nibhasha said, "Please get justice for my daughter. My daughter used to say he treats her badly."
On Friday, Supriya was allegedly murdered by her husband, Chandra Vibhas, a surgeon at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital in Delhi. Supriya's parents said that their daughter's marital troubles began soon after she married Vibhas a year ago.
Supriya's Father Devendra Prasad said, "He deliberately wanted to declare my daughter a retard. On September 26, when I reached his house, he apologised to me and said he has killed my daughter."
Vibhas reportedly strangulated his wife to death after a fight, then took her body to Allahabad and threw it off a bridge into the river below.
DIG Rajkumar said, "We recovered a dead body from Handiya. Looking at it, it was evident that it has been thrown off from the bridge. We got this information from the Delhi Police that the lady may belong to Delhi."
Meanwile, Dr Vibhas has been arrested for the murder of his wife. Her parents are now hoping for a speedy trial.
