Delhi: The country’s capital has just got its first ever ice lounge where not just walls, floor, sofa, carvings are made of ice but even the glasses one is served a drinks are of ice.

In Delhi’s first ice lounge, the carvings, sculptures, a bar, tables, chairs & couches are all made of ice. The ice lounge promises to give Delhiites an experience, they rarely get, as mercury almost never touches zero.

“It feels like you are on the mountains like Switzerland..beautiful lights..it's so good that its started in Delhi,” says one visitor at the lounge.

At the ice lounge the temperature is maintained at minus 5 degrees and to brave the cold, customers are issued thermal capes. The ice bar can accommodate 35 people at a time.

Setting it up has been no mean task. According to Puneet, the man behind the ice lounge, he had to import 35 tonnes of ice cut into 2000 ice blocks from Canada.

“It took 45 days to reach Delhi,” he says.

At present, the entry fee is Rs 1000 per head on weekdays. No food is served inside either. So patrons will have to take settle for eating snacks in a regular lounge next door.
