New Delhi: After CNN-IBN relentlessly showed the plight of the homeless on Delhi streets, the government has finally taken notice. Delhi Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely has formed eight teams of experts to inspect the functioning of night shelters in the national capital.
The teams are expected to submit a report in three days. The Delhi urban shelter board will also construct more than 20 night shelters soon.
Officials have also been asked to ensure that blankets, mats, first aids boxes etc are available for the inmates.
