New Delhi: Mangli Lal Agarwal has lived with trauma for nine long years. His 20-year-old daughter Deepa was found murdered in her apartment in Orlando, US in July 1999.

Her 22-year-old uncle Kamlesh Agarwal was accused of killing her, and the US courts found enough evidences against him.

Mangi Lal Agarwal says, "The US Grand jury found him guilty prima facie."

Kamlesh fled to India four days after the incident and was finally arrested by the Mumbai police in 2000.

The Patiala House Court in Delhi found enough evidence to recommend his extradition to US to face trial, but Kamlesh appealed in the High Court and for six years no progress was made in the case.

Deepa's mother, Paro Agarwal says, "It has taken so long. No one came to support us. We fought against the accused, the system and even our own family."

On Thursday the Delhi High Court finally upheld the Patiala House Court's verdict clearing the way for Kamlesh's extradition and giving Deepa's grieving father, a ray of hope.

For the past nine years, justice was in shackles for the Agarwals, but with the High Court's latest verdict, hopes are high.

However, the family knows that the battle is far from over. With a possible appeal in Supreme Court and then the eventual trial in US, justice isn't round the corner just yet.
