New Delhi: The Delhi High Court blast has left Nitin Mandlaus, 37, a young software professional with more than 1000 shrapnel wounds. His father Dr Ratan Mandlaus says doctors have already performed two surgeries and that it's impossible to remove all pieces of shrapnel. This means he has to live with them forever.

Practically speaking, metal detectors will always beep when he passes through them - but Nitin Minlaus also says blast cost him his well-established job in Canada.

Nitin's father said, "We don't want any compensation. What he requires is a proper rehabilitation that how he is going to face his life in future."

Even Dr Ratan Mandlaus who is a Delhi-based doctor did not escape unhurt in the blast, he now has hearing loss.

Dr Mandlaus added, "I got perforation in both my ear drums. I am a chest physician. I have to spend my life with a stethoscope. I can't hear anything. I don't know how am I going to do justice with my patients."

As a marketing professional, Pramod Mahindra, 45, needs to travel a lot. But Pramod who has suffered multiple fractures and shrapnel injuries on his left leg feels he cannot continue with the job ever after he recovers.

Pramod's Wife said, "He is the only working member in the family. The kids are small. Even after the plaster is cut, we don't know whether he will be able to walk properly."

Out of 13 patients still admitted in RML, four are critical. And even for the rest of them left with injuries the blast may have had a life long impact, it's a life full of uncertainties.
