New Delhi: A Delhi Police officer has been arrested for letting one of the key accused in the sensesation Gurgaon kidney racket escape after accepting Rs 19 lakh as bribe.
CNN-IBN's sister channel IBN 7 was the first to report the involvement of policemen in the racket.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Ravinder Kumar Singh of the Delhi police has been arrested on charges of taking money and letting off Dr Upendra and his driver.

ASI Ravinder Kumar Singh has been arrested and the search is on for the others. All of them have been suspended)," Additional Commissioner of Police Satyendra Garg said.
Police have also filed cases against six more officers who are suspected to be involved in the case, though they are absconding at the moment.
Garg also said that raids are being conducted to arrest the other policemen involved.
The policemen have been booked under Section 384 of Indian Penal Code (extortion) and could be jailed for up to three years or fine or both if they are found guilty, Garg said.
Earlier in the day the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Iteam probing the kidney transplant racket had raided the house of Poonam, wife of main accused Amit Kumar in Jammu.
The team raided the house, which is situated in the Digiana area of Jammu and questioned female family members for nearly five hours.
Sources told that some documents and property papers in the name of Kumar's wife were also seized. Kumar has allegedly made huge investments in real estate in Canada where his wife is currently along with their two children.
Amit Kumar, who was nabbed from Chitwan in Nepal last week, was brought to India and is now in CBI custody till February 22.
Kumar is alleged to have carried out over 500 illegal kidney transplants.
