New Delhi: The Delhi Police is on the lookout for the suspect in the shocking rape incident inside a municipal school in Mongolpuri in northwest Delhi. A seven-year-old girl student was raped by an unidentified man inside the school premises on Thursday during school hours. A case was registered by the police and the medical examination of the victim confirmed rape.
Meanwhile, an angry crowd that had gathered outside the hospital where the girl had been admitted, damaged buses and pelted stones at the police after the incident came to light. Two policemen were injured in the violence.
Sources say that 10 protesters have now been detained and the police are interrogating four staff members of the school, including a guard and two male teachers.
The girl has been admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi hospital and doctors say she is presently out of danger. However, she had suffered internal bleeding.
