New Delhi: The severe cold wave continues in the Capital. Delhi is chilly at 2.6 degree celcius for the second day running and the Met Department says the minimum temperature has fallen to four points below normal.
Ten more people have died due to the severe cold wave in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab on Monday taking the total death toll this season to more than 100.
Mercury plunged to minus 2 in Amritsar where two deaths were reported on the first day of the new year.
Met officials predict a further fall in the temperature. They attribute the fall to cold wave conditions currently prevailing over Haryana, north Rajasthan and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh.
However, with virtually no fog, there has been no disruption of flights.
Meanwhile, in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, the famous Dal Lake remains frozen.
