New Delhi: Delhi assembly elections are barely two weeks away now but if you still don’t know whether your name is on the voter list or where your polling booth is, don’t fret as help is just a phone call away.

Ahead of the elections, the Election Commission has set up a voters helpline to answer queries. And answering your questions are young, 18 to 25 year old executives.

Twenty one-year-old BA graduate from Chandigarh, Shaan has signed up to be part of this unique campaign.

Shaan and 29 others have been taken on because they are enthusiastic and easy to train.

“If you have one question or hundred questions, I will answer all of them,” Shaan says.

However, they still need to strengthen their command over the English language, partly because the training dealt mostly with information and database management.

Chief Electoral Officer Sabir Silas Bedi is confident that the unique services will ensure a high voter turnout.

As for the high pressure job, it sure does come with its benefits. “I checked out all my friends’ names on voters list,” Rohit, a voters helpline executive, says.

So if you don't have the time to visit your EC office, you know whom to call.
