New Delhi: Was the death of NRI youth Anmol Sarna in New Delhi a tragic result of drugs consumption and accidental violence? The police have claimed they have established the chain of events that led to his death.

Police say Anmol and four others took large quantities of the drug LSD that night, after which they were kicked out of the apartment by one of the boys' father. Police say two guards at the complex and a heavily drugged Anmol got into a scuffle.

One of the guards beat up Anmol without intending to kill, according to the police. Anmol, by now in a violent frenzy, reportedly banged his head several times against a wall.

Police say he died of brain haemmorrhage and shock based on injuries sustained. "There was a scuffle and the guards hit him with their batons. He received injuries on the head, back and buttocks. The post-mortem report reveals the extent of injuries. The party-goers were using drugs, investigations are on," said DCP P Karunakaran.

However, Anmol's family has said that the two guards arrested in this case have been framed. Anmol's family alleges that the police are trying to save Anmol's friends who were also present at the scene. The family has alleged a cover-up and is demanding a CBI probe.

Meanwhile, the wife of one of the guards arrested has said, "My husband is innocent. He has been working here for 4 or 5 years. The police is not letting us meet him. The residents of the society are also saying he is innocent. He has been in police custody for four days and no one is giving us any information. I want him to be freed as soon as possible. If he is summoned anywhere by the authorities we will bring him there."
