New Delhi: Bangalore police on Thursday detained four men in connection with the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman.
The Delhi-based woman claims she was raped by two men on December 6. However, she registered the complaint only six days later on December 11.
In her complaint, the woman says a taxi driver helped her rent a room at a service apartment when she arrived in the city on December 5.
The next day, two men allegedly barged to her room, doped her and then raped her. She also alleges being kept captive and says the men took her photographs in the nude.
She has named two people and the police are verifying her statement. She has been sent for a medical examination.
This is not the first time such an incident has been reported in Bangalore. In March 2007, a video shot by local journalists in Bangalore showed an old man and his wife being beaten up by six advocates within the premises of the Hassan court.
The man, Ramegowda was assaulted for confronting the same lawyers who allegedly gangraped his 48-year old wife Savitaramma.
In 2006, a city-based BPO employee was raped and murdered by her cab driver.
