New Delhi: A 32-year-old women strangulated her three-year-old daughter and then hanged herself at her house here Thursday, police said.
In her suicide note, Manju Singh blamed her prolonged illness for the extreme step.
She was found hanging at her rented first-floor residence in Nangloi in west Delhi. The body of her daughter Kanika was lying on the bed, said a police officer. The woman's body was first spotted by a neighbour who called the police.
Police said the woman first strangulated the girl with her stole and then hanged herself with it. Manju's husband Ashok Singh, a supervisor at a footwear company, was in office when the incident took place, the officer said.
The couple, natives of Bihar, got married 11 years ago.
