Denied money for eating out, boy kills self

Lucknow: A 10-year-old boy on Saturday committed suicide by hanging himself after his elder sister denied him money for eating out, police said.

"Zaheer committed suicide at his residence in the Wazirganj area after his elder sister Ruby refused to give him Rs 5 he demanded for eating out," police inspector Jaiveer Singh told IANS.

Upset over being refused the money, Zaheer went to the terrace of his house and hanged himself by tying a cloth around his neck the other end to a wooden pole, added Singh.

According to police, Zaheer belonged to a poor family. His father had died around a year ago.

Zaheer's mother was not in the house when the incident occurred.
