Patna: Parents put girls in hostel, disappear

Patna: Five-year old Anjali and six-year-old Rimjhim have not seen their parents for the last 13 months.

The faceless couple never turned up after admitting them in a residential school in Patna, Shanti Niketan school. School authorities later found that they had given a fake residential address and abandoned the two girls.

The Principal Shanti Niketan school, Avineshwar Prasad Singh says, "We have been looking for the parents of these girls since February last year. We can't even get through to their mobile. When we sent people to the address they had given us, there was no one there. It could be that since they had two daughters, they abandoned them here. They might be shirking their responsibilities like getting the girls married at a later stage in life."

The school hasn't abandoned the children though. The two girls are attending classes alongwith other students and their hostel facilities have been retained.
