Mumbai: For those who want to spend the weekend cleaning up their karmic cycle, here's some good news. An exhibition of devotional paintings that saw Lata Mangeshkar and other devotees at the inauguration is sure to pep up the weekends of artistic souls.
Devotional hangings called the Pichhwais are the traditional backdrop of Lord Krishna's Shreenathjee temples.
Krishna devotees from all over Mumbai flocked to the art exhibition to take a look at the paintings, some of which were made three hundred years ago.
The show was inaugurated by celebrated singer Lata Mangeshkar.
“I’m very happy to see Shreenathji here today,” Lata Mangeshkar said at the inaugural ceremony.
And with such ardent Krishna devotees at the show, flautist Pandit Hari Prasad Chauraisa had only this to say, “I had heard during my childhood that Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati are never together, but today that has been proved wrong.”
