It has been five decades of Bollywood for Dharmendra, and this septuagenarian actor continues to push the envelope. Recently he was seen in Anurag Basu's Life in a…Metro, playing the long lost lover to Nafisa Ali. Now the Deol family comes together in the forthcoming film Apne, CNN-IBN’s Varsha Pillai caught up with the evergreen actor.

CNN-IBN: Did you have any kind of hesitation before you accepted the role in the movie Life in a…Metro?

Dharmendra: No, there was no hesitation but yes, there was this fear that people might not accept the character I played. People have taken it well and I am very happy. And if they really liked my role then I think that I should do a Roman Holiday with Preity Zinta.

CNN-IBN: We are going to see the Deol family in the film Apne. Was it fun shooting in Punjab and were you the leader of the pack?

Dharmendra: The movie is an emotional moment of my life as I work in Apne with my sons, Sunny and Bobby.

CNN-IBN: Your daughter, Ahana, is getting into direction while your other daughter, Esha, is an actor. Every member of your family is into every facet of filmmaking. Are you proud of this fact?

Dharmendra: Yes, Ahana wants to be a director and I have always encouraged her. I will be the happiest the day she directs me on screen. She is a lovely child and I am sure she will do something great one day.

CNN-IBN: Thank you for talking to us.

Dharmendra: Thank you.
