Mumbai: Three workers at the International Airport in Mumbai are in custody, following the mysterious disappearance of diamonds and jewellery worth Rs 4.5 crore. All three suspects are cargo handlers at the airport
The jewels, which were brought on a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok, went missing on Thursday night from the airport's cargo loading area.
A team of representatives from Air India and CISF had failed to turn up during the offloading; cargo handlers had put the consignment in an area that is used to store empty containers.
The boxes were later found broken into and the diamonds stolen.
