Digvijaya Singh now questions Arvind Kejriwal on foreign funds to his NGO

New Delhi: Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh has continued his attack on India Against Corruption member Arvind Kejriwal, questioning about the foreign funds in his NGO. Following up his Friday's letter, in which he referred to Kejriwal as a self serving megalomaniac, Digvijaya has sent a list of 27 questions to Kejriwal.

Some of the questions are:

-In 20 years of service, you have never been posted out of Delhi?

-Your wife, also an IRS offiicer, has never served outside Delhi?

-Did you take government permission to form your NGO?

-Is it true that the NGO Kabir, with whom you're associated, received money from the Ford Foundation?

-What is your relationship with US-based NGO Avaaz which has been funding Civil Disobedience movements in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and Syria?

Earlier, Kejriwal on Saturday rubbished Digvijaya Singh's claim that he had lobbied for an entry into Sonia Gandhi-led National Advisory Council seven years ago, saying he has never approached anyone for this. "Congress has panicked. There is nothing in Digvijaya's letter that needed to be answered. I never went to him for NAC. He is lying," Kejriwal told CNN-IBN.

Digvijaya had claimed that Kejriwal along with Swami Agnivesh had met him for help in getting into NAC in 2005-06. Agnivesh said the meeting is said to have happened six-seven years ago and he does not remember any such meeting. "The issue which Singh raised happened in 2005-06. Time has passed. I don't remember whether I met him with Kejriwal or not," Agnivesh said.

In a letter to Kejriwal, the AICC General Secretary has described the activist as a "self-serving ambitious megalomaniac" having "streak" of Hitler in him. Digvijaya alleged that Kejriwal wanted him to recommend his name for being made a member of the NAC.

Kejriwal said Singh's letter describing him as a "self-serving ambitious megalomaniac" does not merit a response and it only showed that Congress party was "completely rattled and baffled". "Digvijaya's letter to me does not merit a response. Congress seems to be completely rattled and baffled. That is apparent from his letter. Digvijaya seems Congress' last resort," Kejriwal had said. Responding to Singh's remarks, Kejriwal's close associate Kumar Vishwas said, "We have only one thing to say to him. Get well soon."

Earlier, Kejriwal on Friday promised an internal Lokpal to look at charges against members of IAC. "We are not trying to shield anyone or protect anyone. We will set up an internal Lokpal, so we have requested the most eminent and credible judges for this probe. We have referred these cases to them. On Monday, we'll formally send a letter to them and let them decide whether anyone is guilty," Kejriwal told CNN-IBN.

In fact, the IAC on Friday announced a probe by its 'internal Lokpal' of three retired judges to investigate charges against Prashant Bhushan, Anjali Damania and Mayank Gandhi. Former Delhi High Court Chief Justice AP Shah and retired judges BH Marlapalle of Bombay High Court and Jaspal Singh of Delhi High Court have been named the three ombudsmen for Arvind Kejriwal's yet-to-be named party and the cases of these three will be presented before them by Monday.
