Mumbai: A rib-ticking comedy by debutant director Reema Kagti, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd is film with a different take on marriage.
The 34-year-old director approached filmmaker Farhan Akhtar with her script and after spending more than a year and a half on figuring out whom to cast as the six couples in the film, her dream is close to coming true.
"You usually expect a honeymoon to be of a certain kind. I decided to take it on its head to deglamourise and deromanticise it, and put forth something much more real,” says Kagti.
The twelve actors who were cast in the film also brought their added bit of eccentricities in the film.
"That actually was from Shabana (Azmi). She tried teach me Hindi pronunciations all the time,” says Kagti.
The film being compared to British love fest Love Actually and director Nikhil Nanda’s Indian version Salaam-E-Ishq is inevitable. However, Kagti hopes the viewers just take her film as an entertainer when it hits theatres next month.
