Djokovic gives Serbia Hopman Cup lead with Verdasco win

Perth: Novak Djokovic recovered from a 3-0 deficit in the second set to complete a 6-3, 7-5 win over Fernando Verdasco on Saturday, giving Serbia a 1-0 lead over Spain in the Hopman Cup final at Perth Arena.

Ana Ivanovic can clinch Serbia's first title in the 25-year history of the mixed-team tournament with a win over Anabel Medina Garrigues in the women's singles match.

Spain have won the Perth title three times.

The Serb beat the Spaniard 6-3 7-5, giving his team a 1-0 lead in the Hopman Cup final.
